Privacy Policy

Auto Redact is made by HWY Enigma LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: nothing leaves your device, because we built Auto Redact so that it never has to.
What we collect: nothing. Auto Redact has no accounts, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no servers. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. We cannot see your images, your detections, or anything else you do in the app.
How Your Images Are Processed
All scanning, detection, and redaction happens entirely on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks. Your images are never uploaded anywhere. When Auto Redact finds faces or sensitive text such as card numbers, phone numbers, emails, or addresses, that analysis happens in your phone's memory and is discarded when you close the image. The same is true when you use the Redact & Clean action in the share sheet.
Photo Library Access
Auto Redact asks for photo access only to show you your recent screenshots and to save redacted copies you choose to export. You can use the app with limited access, or with no photo access at all by importing images through the picker. Deleting an original screenshot is always confirmed by iOS, never done silently.
Exports and Metadata
Images you export are written only where you send them, such as your clipboard or photo library. Auto Redact removes hidden metadata from every export, including GPS location, capture date details, and camera information, so a shared image carries less about you, not more.
Purchases
The Pro unlock and tips are one-time purchases handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, card number, or billing details. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID, and you can restore it on any of your devices. Purchase records that Apple provides to developers are anonymized.
Data Stored on Your Device
The app keeps a small amount of local data such as your appearance preference, your weekly export count, and whether you have unlocked Pro. This stays on your device inside the app's own storage and is removed if you delete the app.
Children
Auto Redact does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no third-party content or advertising.
Your Rights
Privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA give you rights over data that companies hold about you. HWY Enigma LLC holds no data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Everything stays in your hands, on your device.
Changes to This Policy
If a future update ever changes how the app handles data, we will update this page and the effective date before that update ships. Given the app's design, we do not expect that to happen.
